Group Topic

Our group topic was Introverts versus Extroverts in the business landscape. In the modern workplace, we are generally in small tight cubes like rats, or the ever-popular open workspace where the walls have been removed. These habitats celebrate the “group think environment”.

In a group dynamic, we can’t help but mirror each-other. We mirror each other’s behaviors, we mirror each other’s opinions, we mirror the people that we like because we can’t help but follow the tribe. In social situations, we tend to copy the behaviors of others, and **some argue** the results are a recursive loop of the same old ideas since we just want to agree with everyone and be liked, loved, and be part of the group. In a culture where being social and outgoing is prized above all else, it can be difficult, even shameful, to be an introvert.
